Coming Your Way This October!

We're thrilled to introduce CitizenCon Direct - a special digital Star Citizen showcase bringing the excitement straight to you. This year's event is shaping up to be a ~2-hour show broadcasting live at 1900 UTC on Saturday, October 11, 2025 on Twitch and YouTube!

Only 2.5 days away! I am throwing a watch party on Discord like last year, and all are welcome! The greatest artistic event of the year, fully narrated by me with help from The Cult usual suspects! If you can't make it, I'll put the stream on YouTube, no worries.

So let me tell you what to expect.

First off, this is a very different CitizenCon from all previous ones, which is why the "Direct" in the name. It's not in-person like the last couple of them, nor is it the 6-8 hours' duration like the digital ones during Covid. So why only 2 hours?

Because their development model changed in the last year. It's no longer so "open" as it used to be. That's why the show "Inside Star Citizen" pretty much died. Since they delivered Object Container Streaming (OCS), Persistent Entity Streaming (PES), Physicalized Cargo, Server Meshing (SM), and Pyro, the bulk of the game's architecture has been realized, and though there are still major pieces remaining to be added (Engineering, Crafting & Base-building above all), they're now at a place where they can start focusing on stability and content. This means that the game is now far more playable than before; they recently said that player engagement is 10x what it used to be a year ago, i.e. a player who would play one hour a week a year ago will play 10 hours a week now. And since people are playing more, they're spending more, which is why revenue is up 40% from last year, which was already a record year.

So they have no longer any reason to show, month by month, what they are working on to be delivered months or years from now. Before they would go months with no updates, so they needed to show some signs to the players that they were getting work done, hence the weekly YouTube shows and monthly progress reports and so on. Now we're getting a new update every month as opposed to every 3 or 4 or 5 months, so we're always seeing progress, and reasons to spend more.

Besides, last year's CitizenCon [ > ] will never be surpassed because it was the year that they finally put all the big pieces together into a single stunning vision. We finally saw working crafting and base-building, we saw space-station-building, territory wars and RTT-level naval battles with commanders using holospheres, as well as multiple new star systems, social features, graphical features, jungle-planets like in Star Wars, crazy weather effects. They really went all-out last year, and now they just have to deliver as it's not possible to get even more ambitious than that. They can add the odd extra system here or there (fishing or whatever) but they can't wow us again to the level that they did last year. So why spent a month and more preparing for an in-person show that will only be anti-climactic? Better to put that effort into delivering their promises.

That said, they still need to put up a big shindig once a year to make some extra noise and wow us, it's just good marketing, hence we're getting a CitizenCon that's only focusing on what they've planned for the next 12 months.

Here's Jared explaining: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPaDb5rh0tE&t=2333s

2:51:54 Citizen Direct (Oct 11) announced → smaller, focused event
2:53:30 Expectation setting: no Squadron 42 presence (team heads-down toward 2026)
2:56:05 SC and SQ42 progressing separately; fewer shows this year = devs focus on building

So what ARE they planning for the next 12 months that they'll show off on Saturday? Here are my guesses.

  • Nyx is the big item: a new star system, with Vanduul raids being its unique feature, plus a multi-phase event called (or code-named?) TSG to kick it off, and linked to the existing storylines. Since they showed Levski/Delamar last year, my guess is they'll focus on the planets this year: two regular planets and one gas giant. Plus we'll see the settlement style, gangs and so on. If they do show Levski again, they'll show the local missions they've been planning, i.e. contracts you can complete on-foot or in EVA at the landing zone. I am very excited for these. Anything that allows a full zero-to-hero playthrough with no money or ships up-front is exciting to me (I'll use Cult Clones to play like that as I level them up For The Emperor, i.e. myself).

  • Accompanying the new event will be the long-awaited data-running profession, with a new large ship for it, the Apollo variant called the Hermes. So they'll spend some time advertising this ship and explaining the profession. A little less time will be spent showing off the existing, smaller data-runners: the Drake Herald and Crusader Mercury Star Runner. Maybe also the Sabre Raven which also does some data but is impossible to get without spending $1,000+ because it was only offered via the purchase of an Intel SSD many years ago. Hopefully they'll re-offer this in partnership with Intel at a reasonable price. Tons of people want one, including me.

    Image
    The Vanduul Mauler

  • The Vanduul will also get a major segment: it's a big deal that enemy aliens are finally in the game. And they are coming with a new heavy fighter, the Stinger, and a capital ship, the Mauler (which they teased as "alerum" in some communication). They won't sell the capital and we won't be able to board it, but they'll sell the Stinger, and maybe also the three smaller fighters they've sold before [ > ]: the Blade, Scythe and Glaive. If they sell the Scythe I'll have to find a way to buy it because it's currently impossible to get without spending $5,000 in the secondary market; if they're smart they'll put all of them in a pack that I won't be able to afford :( Also, all Vanduul ships will get their final models, because some of them still have the cartoonish-looking 5-10-year-old models in Arena Commander.

  • I am certain that Pioneer [ > ] development paused when Kraken development started about 4-5 months ago [ > ]. I think what happened was that, when they switched focus from features to stability and content, all planned features including base-building were pushed a year back at least, so there was no longer any reason to keep rushing the endgame base-builder that is the Pioneer. So they switched that team to the Kraken, and that's why we haven't heard a word from the Pioneer for half a year. That said, they might show a quick clip of what they've already done on the Pioneer, and then another quick clip on what they've done on the Kraken. But if they focus on one, it will be the Kraken, because it looks like it's coming first.

  • My guess is that crafting & base-building will also be shown as arriving at least in T0 implementation late next year. Nothing ground-breaking here, they've shown it all before, but now they'll just give a few more details (maybe the hydroponics modules, or the defense modules, or the extra large modules that they only showed in concept before; plus the working crafting machines).

  • And I believe they will show Castra as the next system to arrive, again, late next year, probably in time for next CitCon. I am sure they haven't done much work on it, but they will have at least one new clip from it to show us. Since they showed the landing zone, Sherman, extensively last year, my guess is they'll show a bit of the planets this year.

  • Speaking of planets, terraforming has been teased in the latest edition of the in-game news bulletin, and people are expecting a terraformed microTech to be shown off as the first Planet Tech v5 rework, if you don't count the Nyx planets, which will all be v5. And the Castra planets will be v5, so I expect us to feast our eyes, at least briefly, on all these planets.

  • I also expect at least one item to come out of left field. Maybe working armor lockers, or Bounty Hunting V2, apartments, who knows maybe even a brand-new thing.

That's all I got for now! If I forgot something, I have a couple days to add it. But I think you'll see I am pretty on the mark with these guesses. I spend a good one-two hours per day researching the game EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR, so I don't think anyone is more informed than me who doesn't work for CIG. I could start my own SC YT show and I'd smoke all those gays with the crappy-ass YT shows. But... I have my own game to make, so prolly won't happen.

Anyway, see you Saturday, I can't wait!

A few more points to add after further reflection:

  • A few Monthly Reports ago mentioned a new ship seller in the Wikelo vein. This news combined with rumors of a new vehicle called Gray's Market Shiv, ostensibly from a new manufacturer, has the community thinking that we're getting a ship-seller who kitbashes new ships from pieces of existing ones. This sounds both plausible and desirable as a further evolution of Wikelo who modifies ships with superior components and his personal paint scheme. But I don't know how good a kitbashed vehicle would be given how complex and detailed and polished CIG's vehicles are. This isn't Starbase or Starfield or No Man's Sky where the vehicles are crude block-built garbage. So I would love to see this concept done well, and it'd be very appropriate for Pyro or Nyx, but I am not sure to what extent it can be pulled off. But it may all be bs anyway because I saw someone yesterday say the Shiv is a motorbike. But maybe it's a kitbashed motorbike, because that's small and therefore easier to start with? Plus the reason we haven't got the Tumbril Rangers already is because CIG hasn't got around to adding single-wheel mechanics yet. That's why all the bikes are gravlev. Plus there are no roads. So are we finally seeing motorbikes and roads, or kitbashed designs that can only be acquired from frontier regions in-game because no one would pay cash for them? Looking forward to finding out.

  • 4.3.2 will deliver a more complex salvage model in order to set it up for being hooked up to the upcoming crafting and base-building. That alone will blow Rust and co. out of the water because those games utterly lack such a complex salvage material lifecycle. In preparation for this development CIG has divided the salvage material into rubble (small), scraps (medium) and salvage (large). Currently there are two small salvage ships (Vulture, Fortune) and one large (Reclaimer), but no medium, and it's an open secret that a medium Argo salvager is coming to complete the range. Probably not at CitCon though, it looks like an IAE ship. But they may show it off if they show us the new salvage mechanics and how they connect to the upcoming crafting and base-building. Additionally, a new salvage starter by RSI may be shown/sold.

  • There are a couple more possible ship releases of previously unveiled ships like the Paladin, but I am not too excited about vehicles that don't bring new mechanics unless they're capitals, so this part is kinda meh for me and I hope it doesn't take too much time. At least CIG is done with concept sales, which were the worst since you couldn’t even buy anything more than a useless jpeg.

  • Engineering is about to be tested in Tech Preview before the end of year, and it's essential for base-building because the resource network mechanics it brings will also power base-building, but it's hard to get excited about it because... it's not base-building, and moreover it has been demonstrated to death by this point. So if they do show it off again, I hope they do it quickly.

  • Inventory rework is quite advanced and they might show it off, and it'll be a huge QoL update, but it's hard to get excited about QoL.

  • All the new factions and gangs coming in the game to support Nyx and the narrative. This is exciting stuff.

  • StarWear or whatever they call it: the fully customizable modular clothing system. Fun because you know I like dressing up, but not essential content for me. If they show it, I hope it doesn't take long.

  • Dynamic Server Meshing: This is now the Jesus tech. I don't expect to see it for a long time, but realistically it should come before base-building otherwise CIG's server costs will explode. So we'll see. I am not too worried though because I believe they can well afford the server costs.

Not that I will ever reach this many recruits, but I never noticed it said it would be revealed at CitizenCon.

The Vanduul Stinger would be my guess. But since as the dude said practically no one will ever refer 200 people, they'll also sell it for cash as they do with the Idris-M, Javelin, etc. So it's a nothingburger.

The referral ladder should only give new skins in terms of gear and vehicles, because if it gives exclusive vehicles they're leaving tons of money on the table, and I think they realize this.

I'd been meaning to get this out much earlier but there's a local CitCon watch party near me that I am planning to attend (at the same location as one of last year's local Bar Citizen meet-ups). The story of how I ended up planning to go is a little funny. Initially I missed the RSVP window completely because at the time it wasn't necessary to do so (for last year's Bar Citizen I did it just as a formality at the last minute) but as the event got more attention, CIG got involved and it increased the scale of the event to the point where RSVPing became mandatory.

I ended up messaging the organizer of the event (I met him before but I doubt he remembers) and basically told him that I wanted the Vanduul Skull Hologram for lore reasons as I would be stationed in Delamar in my org when Nyx released, so it's fitting that I should have it. I also showed him proof that I attended the large Bar Citizen event from last year. I only asked him to snag a code for me if it was possible, but he said he had one more spot left (after he officially closed RSVPs a few days prior) so I took it (it was free).

But as I said, over time the event got more attention and CIG ended up officially announcing support for it (same thing happened last year and they sent one of the old community managers, Jake Acappella). This year, John Crewe (Vehicle Director) and Ben Curtis (Vehicle Art Director) are going to be in attendance. I am sure someone will try to pick their brains and get more hints than what will be revealed on stream tomorrow. I tried to see if there would be any unofficial interviews with them but I don't think anyone said they would be doing it.

I am bringing this up because I want to say this shouldn't affect me attending The Cult's watch party. My current plan is to go to a physical CitCon watch party while also attending The Cult's virtual CitCon watch party at the same time lol. I am pretty sure the location has Wi-Fi access and even if it doesn't, I could use my phone as a hotspot, etc. There will be a lot of people there (300 or so, basically hitting the limit of the venue itself) but I am probably the only one trying do this aside from the main streams. I'll try to get there early in case I have to troubleshoot or something.

CIG is supposed to be doing the usual ship raffles but also giving away some physical merch. I'm not totally sure what that is, one item is supposed to be a physical coin apparently. Overall, I think it's pretty cool, especially because there hasn't been a CitCon on the East Coast yet afaik (not even in Montreal) so this is probably the closest thing to date. I'll try to get more than one Vanduul Skull if I can. There's also a watch party happening in New Jersey, but CIG won't be there.

I’m thrilled to share some amazing news about this year’s CitizenCon Direct Watch Party in Switzerland. After days of rumors in the Discord, it’s now official: Chris Roberts himself will be attending the CitizenCon Direct Watch Party in Switzerland!

For once, it’s not “See you in the Verse.” This time, it’s “See you at CitizenCon Direct Watch Party!”

Those skulls go for $200 at least. If you grab an extra one I have dibs! (everyone else can afford them lol). But either way, I am glad we will be getting at least one, and as you said it's fitting that you have it. It would actually be cool if none of the rest of us got one so we'd have to go all the way to Nyx and your HQ to see one. So probably even if you get me one I'll still add it to my web hangar but I'll give it to you in the game so you can have two at your HQ.

BTW there is also a non-holographic one that came with the CitCon pack last year so we have a bunch of these. I think we should give all of those to you too so you can set up a cool pirate-slash-Vanduul-slaying display.

That said... the first narrative event seems to give you a choice of allying with the Vanduul, so I don't know how we'll rationalize it all if you make that choice. Maybe you're playing both sides or whatever...

It will also be interesting to see if we can collect their skulls in-game as we collect ace helmets I think it is (never got these myself but I hear it's been a thing for a while, Wikelo wants them).

So, I did manage to take a couple pictures from the watch party.

I arrived much later than I wanted to (around 1820 UTC) and even got a little bit lost once I actually got into the general area. There was a subway exit to the mall and somehow I had forgotten that I had to walk through the mall for a bit to get to the actual bar. I ended up going out on the other side initially, which was like the exit to the city, so I had to turn around, etc. I even went back into the subway thinking there might've been an exit on the other side.

I wore one of the Invictus UEE Navy T-shirts to the event, they were on sale a few days before the watch parties started.

Image

Image

They gave us a crossword puzzle that was pretty difficult:

Image

Image

In hindsight, it would've been nice to have a prize for anyone who managed to solve it.

By the time I got there, it was already packed and I was just hoping to get a decent seat. I ended up getting like the worst seat possible (in the hopes that an electric outlet would be there, there wasn't), nowhere near the crowd as I thought it might be a bit quieter but it really wasn't. The audio in the place was really good but I had some pretty bad viewing angles, small screens, glare on the screens, etc. So a good portion of the time, I didn't really know exactly what was going on. The side of the bar that was facing me had American football on it, and the screens with the CitCon event playing were almost facing entirely away from me. There were a few small TVs across and to the side of me, and there was also one above my head that I couldn't see from the seat. There were still some people who weren't there for the event still lingering around a bit, probably wondering what the fuck was going on. I wanted to get the seat I had originally which were more like school cafeteria lunch tables, but it would've been surrounded by people basically. So for me, it was more like visiting a local coffee shop than like a bar trying to meet new people, at least this time anyway. Also, I think most of the guys there were already in orgs, that's the impression I got from a few I talked to, at least the organizers and their friends. So a lot of people use these events as physical meet-ups for their orgs. I'm still able to contact some of the players I met at the Bar Citizen I went to last year so I guess I can ask them if they're in orgs already.

I didn't get to talk to John Crewe or Ben Curtis personally. If I'd been thinking ahead, I would've at least asked if anyone had any questions they wanted to ask them. I did get to see John Crewe carrying a mostly filled large beer mug with his usual stoic facial expression which I found kinda funny. I had gotten close to them at one point but then some guy was talking John Crewe's head off while I was waiting and then by that point, I had to start setting up to join the CULT's stream. I think if this had been a normal Bar Citizen event, I would've gotten some info out of them, or at least been able to ask some questions or something. But I was basically rushing since I arrived there, more or less.

But apparently one of the attendees called into SaltEMike's podcast and he claims he was sitting behind both of them and overheard some stuff. I timestamped the portion when he calls in: https://youtu.be/kRkBO24hLzw?si=WBtheuUqFX3vI-pN&t=4093

Image

The caller says that John said he was using these upcoming events to sort of gauge if the Orion should stay under RSI or not (apparently the Orion is a capital-class mining ship). He says he also talked about his thought process with doing the interior of the Orion and doing it efficiently. The caller asked them both about the Arrastra, and it seems like they're waiting for refining to come in before they do much with it. He also said someone from Inforunners asked him to ask about the ship silhouettes and that Ben said that Jared didn't ask for them. Ben later said that they say they haven't finished all of the ships from the last silhouette. The caller then said Ben also found it odd and that he didn't rule out that we might see them at IAE, but he's not sure. I think he also said that they described how they would handle space instancing. Apparently, we will warp to a location and then seamlessly pass thorough an instanced zone, so it should be hard to follow for pirates and such.

It was odd because I didn't him see in the Discord, maybe he has a different name or something.

Outside of that call, someone in the local Discord said that the Pioneer won't be released for awhile, which can pretty much be inferred by how base-building essentially wasn't brought up during the show.

I even had trouble logging into Discord once I set up the hotspot on my phone, so I was moving a lot slower than I planned to. I had to use the hotspot because they asked us not to use the guest Wi-Fi. The stream still paused/lagged a few times which got exclamations from everyone each time it happened.

There were some guys who were friends of one of the organizers that were selling little magnets for like 3 bucks or something. I tried to buy one several times but my card just wasn't working with his PayPal account for some weird reason. The guy selling them didn't even check that it wasn't working and slipped me one lol. He was very nice.

I wasn't able to get more than one Vanduul Skull though, unfortunately. They gave us a pair of tickets near the entrance, one was blue and the other was yellow. The yellow ticket was for the raffle and the blue was for the Vanduul Skull and a physical version of the Levski challenge coin (the same one that is in the CitCon 2955 Pack in-game). We had to turn in the blue ticket to get them and there was pretty much no way around it. I think they wanted to make sure everyone got at least one since there were a lot of people here this time.

Image

Image
Vanduul Skull Card and Levski Challenge Coin

So it was different from what I experienced the last time where they were just handing out cards to anyone who walked past them. If I'd managed to bring a friend who didn't care about Star Citizen, that would've been the best way to get more than one. Ever since they were forced to make RVSPing mandatory, everything just got a lot more strict than it would've been normally because otherwise they would have lost the venue.

One of the players I met last year saw me there during the raffle and greeted me first. Also during the raffle, one of the attendees won a Concierge glassware set, which I thought was interesting. I didn't really get a good look at it but it did seem nice.

Image

These are some of the ships CIG gave out. I came pretty close to getting my number called once or twice. Also that company name is hilarious in this context.

Alongside the ships, there was some physical merch that got added to the store that seemed worth bringing attention to. Jared mentioned the Levski mouse pad and the Wikelo T-shirt but I think he forgot to shill the steel plate posters based on Levski: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/en/s ... erchandise

Image

Image

Image

I really want that mouse pad. The one I have here is falling apart anyway.

I didn't buy any food when I was there because I only had a virtual card and I figured it was better to eat once I got home. By the end, I was pretty exhausted to the point where I was falling asleep on the subway train ride back, which I hate doing (I hadn't slept the night before also). But overall, I can say I had fun even though I wasn't as social as I would have liked to have been. I enjoyed hearing the jokes and commentary from you guys during the event, at least what I could make out at the time.

Terrific report, Exiled. Don't worry about the second Vanduul Skull. I'll grab one from the grey market. The important thing is you got yours for your HQ. It's pretty cool you're already earning items for that before it's even in the game.

And the mouse pad is great, I hope they restock so you can get it. They should make them for all landing zones.

Another thing I do in that respect is use my character as my cellphone's lock screen. I tell girls that's me. And my favorite capital (the Javelin) as the wallpaper. I've been meaning to make a wallpaper thread. Basically anything to remind me of the game during my day, which is why that mouse pad is awesome.

P.S. We can still get more Vanduul Skulls if we go to Bar Citizens in the future... It may be a while before they switch it to a new item.

P.P.S. What was the location you visited? Around Maryland somewhere?

Thanks.

The location I visited was Nighthawk's Brewery & Pizza in Virginia. It's a little weird because they name the events after Washington D.C. but the location was in Virginia, technically. Here we can travel between a lot of the big areas in the tri-state pretty easily, so we all just kinda consider it all the same thing, basically. So for that short trip I did on Saturday (about 45 minutes long each way roughly, on the train anyway), I technically went through all three states, twice. But it's all so close together that no one really thinks about it in that way. They probably name their events after D.C. because that's just the most well-known area out of the bunch and it's so close to D.C. that it's functionally the same thing.

We had 7 people on for CitCon, but you won't hear Exiled because he was at a physical watch party as related above, with too much noise to take part also in ours.

The show was everything I had hoped for and more. So first off, I would suggest people start with our watch party because you'll get the excitement and raw reactions plus it's funnier. But since our noise will cover some of the audio and you'll miss out on some info, plus our stream is only 1080p, I recommend that a few days or weeks later you also watch the raw broadcast at 4K. You need to view the stream at least twice to fully digest it anyway, and I will watch it half a dozen times at least until next CitCon, so it makes sense to spend at least one of those viewings on us, and I suggest to make it the first one.

The most extraordinary takeaway is that these nutters plan to keep us occupied EVERY WEEK from now on. The new event arrives on Thursday and develops over 3 phases/weeks, and then 4.4 with Nyx and Welcome to Nyx arrives and that is rumored to have 6 phases/weeks, so that's pretty much every week until the end of the year. Then they might take a couple weeks' break, up to a month at the most, and then it's non-stop new content until the end of next year. And all that without taking into account the regular sandbox mechanics like your hauling, mining, salvage, bounty-hunting and so on (with refueling confirmed to be coming in 2026 and data-running rumored), which also get mission content added every patch! Unbelievable. But they know now that this approach gets 10x more engagement and 50% more revenue, so they aren't letting up. If anything I expect a couple years down the line to get so much content that people can't do it all and have to choose, which would be the ultimate evolution of the faction/gang wars. FORCE us to make a meaningful choice here! I will be very disappointed at CR if he doesn't go this way. But I think he will, and we'll have to make our choices. Until then, of course, we do everything, or at least as much as we can manage.

All the content shown is fantastic. The Genesis planet tech is unbelievable. Slight criticism there is that Nyx I was supposed to be a dead world like the rest of the planets, but in order to showcase Genesis they made it practically Earth-like and without yet bothering to properly retcon the lore to reflect this, so that their lore team still appeared in the show and said that the UEE abandoned the idea of terraforming the system because it would be too difficult. But the new Nyx I is a paradise that doesn't need terraforming. At least Nyx II is still a hellhole. Anyway, I want to see a retcon that explains everything at some point, and the players are already making noise about it, so I am sure we'll see it. They might even change course and indeed deliver us a hellhole. This company can turn on a dime (CR's whims), so we'll see.

The Welcome to Nyx event keeps ratcheting up event complexity in that it's like Dark Territory but with spaceship combat on top of it! It's a dungeon surrounded by smaller dungeons: the asteroid bases that you must travel between with ships, all the while under attack by Vanduul, the new faction, and possibly also players! I can't wait for this event!

And the Municipal Works below Levski, which they'd been planning to put in ArcCorp, now moved to Nyx, is also awesome. A PVE dungeon at a landing zone to complement the PVP dungeon of the Contested Zones in Pyro. Genius.

Rock Cracker is Levski's version of Align and Mine, and the Tactical Strike Groups mission with the Star Wars-like trench run is next-level action and tactics. And everything looks unique and the system is utterly different to Stanton and Pyro, and the music new and unique too. It's just awesome.

And they have more in store that they haven't revealed, and more they will come up with in the course of the year, I am sure. Can't wait also for FPS crafting that will go into testing before end of year and probably come in the game around midyear next year.

People are understandably upset that base-building has been pushed back another year, but in exchange we got stability such that you can play for half a day with no crashes, and far superior performance to before, and content you can barely find the time to play. That's a fair trade for me, and obviously for most players, ergo the 40%+ jump in revenue etc.

Now for the negatives. There were really only two issues I had with what was shown and said:

1) They added a temporary Stanton-Nyx jump point until Castra is added, probably in a year, at which point it will be Stanton-Castra-Nyx, and

2) The two older Vanduul fighters will still have their older models that look completely out of place in the modern game. Of course they too will be updated, for sure by the time Squadron 42 launches next year with the new models. But until then we'll have to tolerate the old ones.

So these are minor, and temporary issues, but they still bugged me and I said so repeatedly during our broadcast. The Stanton-Nyx shortcut destroys the feeling of distance that Nyx should bring to the verse. That is a system bordering VANDUUL SPACE and you're telling me it's only a single jump to the trillions of Stanton residents??? And the old Vanduul models look like shit next to the new ones, and especially next to the Vanduul capital ship teased.

But then after a couple of days of reflection I figured out how to basically eliminate both issues! And it's incredibly simple.

Regarding the shortcut... just don't take it lol. I am banning use of the Stanton-Nyx jump gate for the entire org. When people are alone they can do as they please (tho I still recommend my ban), but when two or more are together we pretend the shortcut doesn't exist. And voila: problem solved, and Nyx is very far from Stanton and we'll feel it every moment.

As for the older Vanduul models... I think of it like the F7 Mk I... Aren't the Vanduul allowed to upgrade their designs over time like the humans have done? And it matches CIG's lore well because they said that the Vanduul raiding Nyx aren't part of any clans. The Vanduul are divided into clans, and the clan-less raiders seem to me the Vanduul equivalent of human players: basically independent "citizens" out for themselves, which means they have inferior equipment to their race's military. All our ships btw are centuries-old outdated clankers or gimped versions of what the UEE has. Why shouldn't the same be true of the Vanduul? So yes, a couple of their fighters look old because they ARE old. And they will be updated in due course, but until then I am fine with facing them in such a backwater system like Nyx.

And there you go: the show did not have a single negative ultimately. So go watch it and rewatch it and let the details sink in, and get ready to start engaging with it all in about a month.

But first, we have TWO new events this Saturday, so Imma go prepare those now.
