Foundation Festival 2026 Has Begun!
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spec ... -has-begun

This just ended, but I figured I might as well report on it anyway as there are a couple of useful goodies in here.

First off, the new new player guide (Welcome Hub) is fantastic: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/en/playstarcitizen

It's basically a manual that's also great for offering a quick overview of the game's vast scope and systems. Show it to friends to get them hyped, and explore it yourselves to make sure you haven't missed anything, or as a refresher.

Then the Guide System is a way to grab some cool gear and paints: https://support.robertsspaceindustries. ... ide-System

The new items this year are a beanie bundle, a hat, and a very cool Foundation Festival armor, plus an Aurora Mk II paint replacing the Freelancer's from last year.

1 new paint (Aurora Mk II replaces Freelancer for Refresher)
Guide can earn Beanie Bundle, Hat, and FF Armor for 1, 2, 3 sessions
Recruit has nothing this year for 1, 2, 3, sessions
No weekend challenges this year

This does mean there's no way to get the Freelancer paint anymore. You also can't get the new Salvation, Golem and Intrepid paints without buying the Warbond Starter Packs featuring them. So that's 4 FF paints in all that cannot be easily acquired for the time being. We'll see what happens to them next year.

Shaladar @Shaladar wrote:This has happened almost every year for the FF. The paints for the Aurora, 100i, Cutter, and Intrepid were originally only available as part of a package. Some of those were made available as rewards or direct purchase in later years. This year they added more that are only available in a package. They may or may not become rewards in following years.

Darkness Muta @DarknessMuta wrote:I am pretty sure they have done this in past years with the 100i and maybe a few other Foundation Festival paints where they were part of a pack only and then the paint was available for free from the guide system the next event. With CIG removing the Freelancer this time, it seems like they might be planning to rotate the paints around so something like the Golem would replace the Prospector paint for mining and the Intrepid would replace the Arrow paint for the beginner section next year as it would also give players more reason to do multiple sessions to get the new paints they might be missing.

The way you get these rewards is by logging in two accounts in separate browsers then chatting between them and letting them idle for 30 minutes per session. So for the three new reward tiers it took me about an hour and a half. You can use any of our clones for the second account (the Recruit). I got all the rewards minus the hat, so it must have bugged out. I'll give it a day in case they fix it and then contact support.

The coolest of the rewards is the armor. We'll see what we'll do with it. Since it's guide-themed, it might be useful for when passenger transport is introduced, or we could station a clone with it inside a base to give tours, or it could be a guide for new org recruits, etc. Whoever didn't get it this year will almost certainly have the chance next year.

P.S. There were also two Twitch Drops but I covered those in the dedicated thread [ > ].

I didn't get the hat either, but I already had it from a previous year, so I don't think that's a bug. You don't get rewards you already had.
